About Dr Rachel Li

Dr Rachel Li is a Perth-based ophthalmologist at WA Eye Specialists (Murdoch, South Perth, Midland and Joondalup) and Fremantle Hospital.

She is passionate about restoring vision and helping patients achieve the best level of vision possible. She strives for the best outcomes by practising patient-oriented and evidence-based clinical care.

 

Dr Li has special interests in:

-       Corneal surgery

-       Cataract surgery

-       Pterygium surgery

-       Keratoconus and crosslinking

-       Eyelid and oculoplastic surgery

-       Refractive surgery

 

She graduated from the University of Melbourne in 2012 and has undertaken her ophthalmology training at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital (RVEEH). She completed an Advanced Cataract fellowship at the RVEEH in 2020. After obtaining her Fellowship of Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists, she undertook further advanced subspecialty fellowship training in cornea and oculoplastics at the Royal Perth Hospital and cornea and refractive surgery at the prestigious Manchester Royal Eye Hospital in the United Kingdom.

Dr Rachel Li has extensive experience in cataract surgery and cornea graft surgeries, including penetrating keratoplasty. In addition, she has a special interest in partial thickness corneal transplants including Descemet’s Stripping Automated Endothelial Keratoplasty (DSAEK) and Descemet’s Membrane Endothelial Keratoplasty (DMEK). She performs eyelid surgeries including post Mohs reconstruction, entropion and ectropion repair, blepharoplasty and ptosis repair.

She has presented at national and international conferences and published in peer-reviewed journals. She is fluent in both English and Chinese (Mandarin).
